MiaDesktop Users Guide

MiaIcon Library

From the list of icons select desired MiaIcon. Selected icon will be highlighted. Once desired icon is selected, click Add to Desktop to add the icon to your desktop environment.

Unwanted icons may be deleted from your library by clicking Delete MiaIcon. Some of the icons are integral to MiaDesktop software and may not be deleted - you will notice that when the core icons are selected Delete MiaIcon will not be active.

Check for New MiaIcons

You may download new MiaIcons from website. Memco will periodically add new MiaIcon templates for your use.

Please click Check for new MiaIcons in the Options tab to view newly released and available MiaIcons.

Hidden Icons

All MiaIcons you have created and are not currently active—on your Desktop—are displayed here. You may select your desired icon and click Open to activate it. All your shortcuts on selected MiaIcon will be displayed and will be active.

Group - Name of current MiaIcons group. MiaDesktop allows the user to group miltuple MiaIcons. For example "My Administrative Tools", "My Favorite Desktop" etc. Simply press ">" button at the right side of group name. Associated menu allows to add/rename/delete icon groups.

Open - Displays existing MiaIcon on your desktop

Open All - Opens all hidden MiaIcons and adds to desktop

Delete - Removes selected icon

Delete All - Removes all MiaIcons, including active icons

Move to Group - Moves selected icon ti the current Group

Hide All - Hides all currently active MiaIcons from desktop

Options

New MiaIcons Size
There are three sizes available to create new icons: Large (600X600), Standard (400X400) and Small (200X200). The default size is the Standard (400X400). It is important to note that the larger the size of MiaIcon the more dedicated memory is usurped by MiaDesktop.

MiaIcon Style
Place on desktop: Selecting this feature will make MiaIcons available only on your desktop, i.e. the icon will disappear from view when a program is launched.

MiaIcons Companion: Selecting this feature will make MiaIcons available on your computer screen at all times.

Launch on Windows startup
Please mark the check-box to automatically launch MiaDesktop when you start your computer.

Placing shortcuts

Simply drag and drop any file or folder (including photos, audio files, etc.) onto MiaIcon to place the shortcut. You may drag and drop multiple files or folders as well.

Navigation

Move your mouse while pressing left button to rotate your viewing angle.
To Zoom-In/Zoom-Out move your mouse while pressing the right mouse button.

Using MiaIcons Menu On The Desktop

Hover your mouse over MiaIcon and

Transparent
Selecting this feature makes the MiaIcons environment transparent thereby any underlying text, image or document is fully visible.

Mia-Icon Companion (Topmost)
Selecting this feature will keep MiaIcons in viewing position at all times (top-most position). To disable this feature simply un-mark MiaIcons Companion. This feature is very useful for accessing your shortcuts while working in various software environments where accessing files or images on an ongoing basis are required.

Add New Shortcut
This action will open Windows Explorer. You can drag and drop your files and folders onto MiaIcons. Photos will be displayed as images on MiaIcons.

Delete All Shortcuts - will allow you to delete shortcuts from MiaIcon.

Copy Shortcut to Desktop - this will copy the content of your MiaIcon shortcut to your Windows Desktop.

Rename/Delete Shortcut
This action (Ctrl + click on shortcut) will open Shortcut associated menu.

Rename Mia-Icon
This feature allows you to rename and save your customized MiaIcons.

Hide Mia-Icon
To hide your MiaIcons from the desktop click on Hide MiaIcon. To activate your MiaIcon go to Hidden Icons library and click on Open.

Delete MiaIcons
Removes current MiaIcons. WARNING: All shortcuts will be removed as well.

Minimize
To minimize MiaIcons to its smallest size.

Center MiaIcons
This feature places your MiaIcons in the center of MiaDesktop window.

Maximize
To maximize MiaIcons to its largest possible size.

About MiaDesktop
MiaDesktop™ is a convenient shortcut organizer and viewer that is based on Memco’s MiaTools cutting edge technology.

Shortcut associated menu (Ctrl + click on shortcut)

Open - will open the content of the folder in MiaDesktop Active Content Explorer. Simply double-clicking on the shortcut will also Open the content in MiaDesktop Active Content Explorer.

Open With... - will allow you to select the program with which you would like to open the file.

Open Containing Folder - this feature will Open the content in Windows® Explorer.

Edit - will allow you to edit the content of the folder.

Copy Shortcut to Desktop - this will copy the content of your MiaIcon shortcut to your Windows Desktop.

Rename Shortcut - will allow you to rename the shortcut.

Delete Shortcut - will allow you to delete the shortcut.

Download the latest version of MiaPlayer [7.0] to view 3D content on the web developed by Mia.
